Amdocs required a creative campaign to help segment their Big Data Analytics business unit. This theme would run throughout the year and any communications from the business unit would be distinguished by visual elements of the campaign.
We wanted to produce a campaign that stood out from the competition and so looked at visual metaphors we could use to describe Big Data. We hit on water, as large data repositories are known as “Data Lakes” and knew that we were onto something.
Central to the campaign was an engaging video which could be used in a number of settings, such as in presentations, at exhibitions and online. We also created a number of other pieces of campaign collateral including: print and digital ads, presentation and document templates, a microsite and event graphics. We even created a video specifically for a roadshow that Amdocs were undertaking in conjunction with Hortonworks. Hortonworks and Hadoop (a Big Data platform) share an elephant as their logo, so what better way to incorporate them into our video, than to have an elephant swimming underwater. With some 3D wizardry our skilled team were able to convincingly pull it off, creating a memorable show opening video.
The whole campaign has been so successful, we’ve extended the campaign. The new brief was to illustrate how businesses need to harness the power of big data. As we’d already laid the groundwork for seeing data as water, it was a simple step to illustrate surfing as harnessing the power of data.
